Just don't use it. It doesn't record automatically, you have to start it manually

remove a call recording from a Samsung Galaxy S25, you can open the Phone app, go to "Recordings", and tap Delete recordings. You can also set how long you want to keep a recorded call before it's automatically deleted.

To turn off auto call recording on a Samsung Galaxy S25, you can do the following:

Open the Phone app

Press the menu symbol in the top right corner

Select Settings

Select Record calls

Turn off Auto record calls

Your face shouldn't hit it, the proximity sensor is supposed to lock the screen so that doesn't happen. It's one of the reasons the screen times out so quickly when on a call. Wear earbuds to make and take calls. It's infinitely more comfortable than putting the phone to your ear. But, again, it's not supposed to happen.

Exactly, i am having this same problem, almost every call i accidentally hit it and then the person is wondering why I am recording them and then I have to explain....This is super annoying!

Samsung needs to fix, asap

Right! On the iPhone, there's a two-step process. Very unfortunate, there's no way to disable it.

If your face is hitting the record button, it means the proximity sensor is not working and your screen is not turning off. If your screen was off, there would be no way your cheek would hit any button. If the record button was not there, your face could just as easily hit the hang up button. If the screen is not turning off, either because the proximity sensor is not working, or the screen is not timing out quickly enough, put in an error report.

This is unacceptable. I have 3 seconds to click two different times so the phone won't announce to the other party they are being recorded. That's nearly impossible when answering a call when driving.

If Samsung doesn't get this corrected within the next week or so, I'm returning my S25 and making the leap to an iPhone.

It is my understanding the phone does not automatically record, so you shouldn't have to tap anything unless, like the OP, you are holding the phone to your face. If yours is recording automatically, then there must be something in the settings to adjust that. Since I do not yet have the new UI, I cannot check any settings. In any case, if people don't want to talk to you because you are recording the call, apologize and then turn off the recording.

Lock your screen when you are on a call or use a BT device or put your phone on speaker (I realize this may not be an option in public).

This is annoying. Why is there not an option to remove or disable the call recording icon from call screen? My cheeks is constantly hits call record and people are thinking I'm trying to record our conversation.

I too am looking for a solution to remove this button. I work in a Healthcare setting where not having the phone to my ear is an option.
