If you were using Google messages at all. Open back up Google messages ,make default, and turn OFF RCS.
Next open Samsung messages and make default then turn on chat features .
Next disable Google messages or uninstall.

Hello Alexs1993, Welcome to the Community. We understand the disappointment of not being able to use Samsung Messages.

It appears Verizon does not support the Samsung Messages app. Take a look at the solution here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Apps-and-Services/Verizon-no-longer-supports-RCS-in-Samsung-Messages/m-p/3072743

Other Members state they were notified by Verizon that Support ended in January 2025 for the app.

I don't think that's entirely true. I did get it to work for about 2 hours when I noticed my messages weren't migrating over. So I deleted the app and re-downloaded the app and then this happened

So this is what I did: Turned off wifi. Turned off rcs in Google messages. In Samsung messages, chat feature will be grayed out. Turn on wifi again now. Go back into samsung messages and the chat feature will no longer be grayed out and you can register
