Quick settings/Notifications

Here we go again with issues from the get go. I go into the settings to change it so if I swipe down from the top left corner it could show the Quick settings and it should let me swipe from top center or any other top part ( not the left one ) to see my notifications but NOOOOOO, it's not working. I can only swipe from the corner to see notifications everywhere else the bloody Quick settings panel shows. Anyone found the workaround?

You can put the two panes back together so that it behaves the way you are used to . Pull down the panel from the right until you see the edit pencil. Tap the edit pencil, then tap the panel setting icon on the left. Choose "together", tap done to save. Now you have one quick panel and notification area.
