"This is NOT about battery drain but about extreme, localized overheating near the SIM tray/CPU, making the phone unusable for gaming. Please do not merge this with unrelated battery drain topics

Hey everyone,

I just got the S25 Ultra, and I’m experiencing extreme overheating issues—especially around the SIM card tray, where the CPU is located. Any kind of gaming, whether it’s an idle game, Roblox, Fortnite, or Call of Duty, makes the phone unbearably hot to the point where I can’t even hold it with both hands without feeling like my fingers are getting toasted.

For context, my Z Flip 5 also had major overheating issues—even simple things like charging would cause it to throw out overheating warnings. But this S25 Ultra is even worse in terms of heat concentrated around the SIM card tray area. Thankfully, I use a digital SIM because, with how hot it gets, I wouldn't be surprised if a physical SIM started melting in there.

I shouldn’t have to tweak settings or lower visual quality just to prevent my phone from overheating—this is a flagship device, and it should be able to handle gaming without turning into a furnace.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Hello, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern of the phone overheating.

Try clearing the cache partition. To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.

If you're receiving an overheating message check out the following link:
