My Samsung S25 Ultra is not getting notifications when phone is locked

Hi All, I have Samsung s25 phone and when the phone is locked i wont get any notifications or sound from apps like whatsapp, message etc..

when i unlock the phone i can see those notifications. I have tried all options and checked all the settings from the Samsung community and other web sources and all seems to be intact.

Have updated the App and running in android version 16 and up to date software updates.

Please help in fixing it.

Have u tried resetting the settings on ur phone that might help or maybe restarting ur phone

I'm having the same issue with mine and it's becoming frustrating. I've reset my phone several times, installed minimal apps, checked individual app notification settings, lock screen settings, power settings to no avail. Nothing is helping. This needs to be fixed

Hello seshadri28, welcome to the Samsung Community! I understand your concerns about your device not showing notifications on lock screen. I see where you stated you have checked all options and settings, what exactly have you check? Different things can prevent apps from running or showing notifications on your device. You can disable any function that could be blocking notifications and then test the app to check if it sends notifications. Verify that your device is not in power saving: If it's illuminated, tap the Power saving icon to turn off Power saving mode. This could prevent notifications from displaying. Verify that none of your apps that you want notifications for are not in deep sleep and are able to run in the background. Verify that your notifications are turned on: Settings, Apps, Notifications, tap allow notifications, Allow sound and vibrations. Some apps may have additional notification settings within the app itself. You may need to open the app and check its settings, menus, or help page.

Clear the cache partition: power off your device, hold the volume up and power buttons together at the same time until the Samsung Logo appears and then release the power button, select clear cache partition and reboot your device as normal.

Also, as stated from usernotadev, check your notification style

If you are able to get notifications from other apps when your screen is locked but not third party apps then I recommend that you reach out to the specific app developer.

I am also having the same frustrating issue and have done all of the above but nothing fixes it. I get no sound or vibrate notifications from Messages, Facebook Messenger, or Outlook when the phone is locked. What's the issue???

I am having the same issue on my Z Flip 5 after the OneUI 8 update in December. I just spent 40 minutes with Samsung support and did app resets, notification settings checks and even system cache clearing and none of it solved the issues. Support told me I have to wait until they release a bug fix, but wouldn't commit to any timeframe. Extremely frustrating.

I have an s21 and am also having a similar issue. My friend with the s24 has the same issue as well. I get the pop-up but no sound unless my phone is unlocked. This just started a few days ago and I've checked notification settings several times as well as restarted the phone.

Just an update to my experience. It turns out there is a setting in the Wearable app to turn off notifications if my Galaxy Watch is connected. Somehow it got enabled and I had to change it to notify on both devices always.

You are a lifesaver. This is what was causing me not to hear text message notifications on my phone when the screen is locked, ever since I got a Samsung watch. I took my phone to the TMobile store this week and they couldn't figure it out (even though I got the watch there). They told me it was a hardware issue with the phone and I had to replace my phone.

Thanks for the screenshot. That fixed my issue with not hearing text message notifications on my phone.
