Yes!!!!!!!! It was completely wiped out. Have to start over on WhatsApp. Good thing I didn't use it often. That was the only app that wouldn't transfer.

IME on the old phone you must go into WhatsApp -> Settings -> Chats and do a Chat backup. Then when you log into WhatsApp on the new phone it will grab that backup and restore your messages.

Probably because it has to transfer them all to China to make sure you are not speaking ill of their great leader before transferring back to you.

Hey so I'm using this third party app to back it up to my laptop and try to then restore it to my new device. I'll let you know if it works

I recently got the Samsung S25. SmartSwitch worked fine for the regular data restoration from my old device. But, for some reason, I'm unable to restore my WhatsApp chats. The Chat Transfer doesn't work, nor does the Google Drive backup. I didn't uninstall WhatsApp on my old phone, so my chats seem to be safe.

Is anyone else facing this issue? I tried all available fixes—restarting the devices, uninstalling WhatsApp on S25, again, etc. But none seem to work.

Does anyone know what to do?

Its not working on my nes samsung s25. tried all the way. aftyer completion 99% its stop and asked something happened try again(Restore).

I restarted the phone at 99% and it restored the chats but no media. something to work till we get a fix

From 5th Feb 2025 for 2 days I am trying but still I am unable to restore my chats from my Google Drive storage. Also I loss my data from internal storage. Still I am facing the restore issue. Try to solve the the problem and give me a good solution.

same here, got my s25u yesterday and was unable to restore the backup, at first also can't mirroring (the QR wont show) but now the mirroring issue kinda fixed, still need 2 phone for mirroring
