Device Care constantly asks me to "OPTIMIZE NOW", how can I get it to stop asking?

In device Care it constantly tells me to OPTIMIZE NOW. Like constantly. I can clear it and then go right back to it and it'll say Optimize Now again, sigh. Anyone have this issue and what can I do?

If you have apps open in the background, it will say optimize now. Try closing everything and see what happens.

Method 1: Turn off specific notification categories

This method allows you to silence the optimization reminders without disabling other Device Care alerts.

Go to Settings > Notifications.

Tap Advanced settings.

Turn on Manage notification categories for each app.

Go back to the main Notifications screen and tap App notifications.

Find and select Device Care.

Tap Notification categories and toggle off the notifications you don't want to receive, such as Memory.

Method 2: Adjust auto-optimization settings

You can manage when or if your phone automatically optimizes itself to reduce the frequency of alerts.

Go to Settings > Battery and device care.

Tap Auto optimization.

Here, you can:

Disable "Restart when needed": Turn off this option to prevent your phone from automatically restarting to perform optimization.

Check auto restart schedule: If you prefer the restarts to continue, you can adjust the schedule to a time when you won't be using your phone.

Method 3: Put unused apps to sleep

To prevent certain apps from triggering optimization alerts by running in the background, you can set them to "deep sleep."

Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery.

Tap Background usage limits.

Ensure "Put unused apps to sleep" is enabled.

You can also manually add specific apps to Deep sleeping apps. This closes them immediately when you are not using them and prevents them from running in the background.

Method 4: Clear the system cache

Clearing the system cache can resolve a variety of minor performance issues, including software bugs that cause persistent notifications. This process does not delete your personal files.

Power off your phone completely.

Press and hold the Volume Up and Power/Side buttons simultaneously.

Release the buttons when the Samsung logo appears to enter the Recovery Mode menu.

Use the volume keys to navigate to Wipe cache partition and select it with the power button.

Select Yes to confirm.

When complete, select Reboot system now.

When you get that message, it means it wants you to restart the phone. You can set your phone for auto optimization and set it to restart once a week at a time you are unlikely to be using it. Your phone needs to be restarted periodically. I do not recommend during sleep, as it may interrupt your backup cycle. Optimization is not just clearing memory, which clicking that button will do, it is cleaning out junk and keeping your phone running smoothly. You can also set it to restart when needed (which is probably what it's set at now). This setting will restart if you are not using the phone, and warn you when you are using the phone.

It's not an issue. It simply is a handy button for you to click to optimize.

It will always say this after you optimize after you have gone on your merry way and started using more apps. Just simply ignore it. You don't have to continually optimize your device.

Having same issue with bone stock, new phone. Longtime Verizon & Samsung user, have NEVER had this obnoxious issue before. It makes it very difficult to use Facebook or email - both of which came pre-installed. Maybe it's time to move on.

Not when you literally have to use it to make your phone Stop freezing and stuttering like I've had to do with all of my galaxies the last five or six years including this brand new S25 Ultra what is going on?!

When you have a situation like that I would suspect that you are using an app across those devices which is causing the issue. Or you are running the devices with very little free storage.

I've read that over and over again... But I've literally cleared out everything on several of the last iterations of galaxy and still find this to be true. Also I currently have 308 GB free. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thank you but I do realize that. The only reason I ever optimized was/is because the phone was either lagging horribly or froze - almost - completely. I keep the Samsung Device Care app in the edge panel, which was/is the only functional part of the phone at that point 🤬😤🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️.

No exaggeration, I'm constantly having to optimize my Samsung, up to 20 times a day. Usually 3-4 timed back to back. It comes up there are no issues but there obviously are. It is beyond frustrating and annoying. I also restart the phone a couple times day. I close each app when I'm through with it so it's not because of too many apps open. Thought of switching to an IPhone but those who know me say it would be too hard of a learning curve after always having Samsungs.

I've done all these things to no avail. It's beyond maddening. Maybe my phone is too old.
