I am using an S25+. About 3 weeks ago I started having issues with not receiving MMS messages and SMS with Emojis. 2 trips to ATT, 6 calls to tech support, a full factory reset and restore and NOW a new phone shipped in on warranty has not solved the issue. I have always used Textra, but switched to Google messages to help solve/resolve/troubleshoot issue. MMSSMS.db has been wiped and a clean start with no old messages has been tried. ALL settings that I can find have been manipulated, toggled, reset. This does not pertain only to group chats, it can happen with a single person to person test thread also.

HEEELLLLP!

New E sim loaded on the original phone very early in the troubleshooting process. New E Sim loaded on the replacement phone as well. E Sim was NOT transferred from old phone to new, replacement phone. ATT is alternately telling me it is a Google Issue or a S25+ issue. We warranty replaced the phone, so doubt that it is a S25+ issue. Not seen any endemic issues with Google either while looking thru the forums for solutions.

SOLVED! I Think. So, the first big step was to add a new APN and make that the default. I am attaching the APN settings we are currently using. That first step solved MOST of the issues with MMS messages and SMS messages with emoji's. We tested for a few days and we eventually identified that some senders, but not all, in Group messages were not coming in. At this point I was using Textra as a messaging app since we had already tried Google Messages and it was not performing any better than Textra was. So, as a test, I went back to Google Messages and turned on RCS. Immediately 48 missing group messages flooded in. And the phone has been acting correctly for 2 days now.

Just saying that this does not make any sense since RCS is an enhancement to the messaging platform and should not prevent MMS messages from being delivered. Google Messages is holding RCS as proprietary for Androids, so other platforms do not have it as yet. And I also do not understand why the ATT recommended provisioning for this phone would not work. Some one (ATT, Google or Samsung) changed a bit of code about 4 weeks ago that broke something!

No, it does not seem to be phone specific. A new/warranty S25+ did not touch the issue. And then a Pixel 10 Pro started seeing very minor issues until we switched it to Google Messages with RCS turned on. ATT, or Google, obviously changed something to cause this issue. Please look at the solution that worked for us in this thread. APN change from what ATT has provisioned and a (begrudging)acceptance of Google Messages seems to be the solution after battling this for 4 weeks! No help or acknowledgement from ATT toward a solution. Although they reluctantly replaced the phone. You would think that this was a solvable issue for them!

Interesting! Our Pixel 10 Pro that was working fine up until a few days ago with no need to monkey with the settings started having issues, so I went in and checked the APN settings and they had CHANGED all by themselves.. obviously someone pushed an update. So I did what I had done to the S25 and added a new APN ( basically resetting it back to what it was before). It started working like it should. A day later, it also reported that it was no longer on a cell network like yours did. So I reset it back k to the newly changed APN yesterday and it seems to be ok now. It all seems like ATT is pushing things out to try and fix this.
So,if I were you, I would go back to your original APN and see if ATT has figured out what is happening and pushed out the fix
