The actual circle that pops up where your supposed to put your finger and create a print isn't working, it doesn't even show up there anymore?. How does this get fixed

Have you tried a simple restart of the device? Most times that can be a quick fix.

@Jdub1234 Do you have fingerprint security enabled on your phone?

If it isn't enabled, I don't think the icon will show up.

Also every so often, you are forced to use your password. At that time you won't see the fingerprint icon until you unlock with a password.

Another possibility. Open phone settings -> Security and privacy -> Screen lock and biometrics -> Click on Fingerprints. If the option "Fingerprint always on" is enabled, make sure that "Show icon when screen is off" is set to the value that you want.
