Id switch to ios. Never used it before always been a samsung girlie but my privacy is most important. I just think this the beginning of samsung selling out to google. Most samsung users uses the samsung messaging app. All they had to do is upgrade it to rcs instead of doing alot of other changes in the updates to come.

Im tired of all these big changes from samsung. I really liked the chat background features and how easy it was to use the samsung messages. I got a pop up message to switch now because it will be discontinued in July and I did.. now im lost i dont know how to even go in my setting and im seeing my google Pic and account. I thought that would be private and only be share by if u want to. I cant get my chat background picture 😭. I cant see and media shared in any of my chats. Idk what to do its like the phone becomes useless....

I switched back to Samsung messages. I dont feel comfortable google invading my privacy. Ill wait until July. Might switch from samsung. For the first in my life

I wish Samsung would have continued to support their messages app and had it support RCS, which is a necessity now, SMS just doesn't cut it anymore in this day and age. I also like using Samsung Mail for my email app but I wouldn't be surprised if that one is going away soon, if it hasn't already. Both Samsung Messages and Mail both have that unique 'something' in their design that reminds you that you are using a Galaxy phone, and not just a random Android phone. However, I don't think you should completely switch off of Samsung, unless you are talking about making a switch over to iOS....because the fact of the matter is, for all of the shortcomings you discussed in your post, none of the other Android devices have much that you would prefer over Samsung, besides the fact that they cost less...
RCS (Google Messages) is more secure that SMS/MMS (Google Messages), so your argument about 'security' is weak.

RCS is the new messaging standard for all phones, including iPhones. Users get highly desirable features such as high quality media, typing indicators, read receipts, and emoji tapbacks.

Google Messages between Android users are end-to-end encrypted, meaning messages are essentially sent in a "black box" from point A to point B, and no one can intercept and read them, not even Google.

While custom image Message backgrounds are not currently available in Google Messages, you can change the colors of your messages.

Previously shared media from another messaging app may not transition. It is recommended that you save any desired media from your previous messaging app. If web link previews are not showing, you can enable automatic previews for media in Google Messages settings.

There's no argument ive never used google messaging nor rcs before im saying based on what was sent to my phone. Go where your welcome because its not here. Doubt u even read the terms because google specifically said its not end to end encrypted if both party doesnt have rcs and it censor pictures and messages containing certain contents. Reading is fundamental in life. Try it
