S25 Ultra battery getting worse after 3 weeks of use

After using the S22 Ultra for almost 4 years, I initially got the S26 Ultra when it came out. Even though I didn't care for the display with fuzzy/blurry text and sent it back, I was impressed with it's battery life.

Instead I got the S25 Ultra feom Amazon and have been using it for 3 weeks. Over that time I went from really impressive 20hr with 7.5hr SOT, to around 15 hr, then down to 13hr, and today was under 12hr with 6hr SOT. Since I use the phone a lot with my work, most of the apps I am using are Crome, Chrome Beta, and Samsung Messages. This just doesn't make sense why my battery life is dropping so much. The display brightness I adjust manually and usually have it about 50% or less as it's indoors.

Dont let it get to 3% maybe you installed an app thats using more cpu/gpu, or background resources? Also put it in light performance profile. And even further if the phone is idling put it in power save mode.

I have an s24 it lasts 2 days with 7h sot even way more in power save mode.

I unplug it in the morning, and usually when the 5% warning comes up, I get the charger. But I posted the pictures that were down to 95-97%. I've looked at the running apps and the ones at the top of the list for battery usage is Chrome, Chrome Beta and Samsung Messages (about 8-12% each). After that is like 4-5% and less with YouTube, Reddit, K-9, etc. I don't see any apps with high battery usage.

Ideally charge up at 20%, and little top.ups during the day, put it on light performance mode it should last days, lithium batteries lose voltage and they lose life cycles

By comparison this was the S26 Ultra before I sent it back within the 15 days.

One of your apps might be gobbling alot of battery. Sometimes YouTube and chrome with messenger and other apps can use a lot of battery. Also your screen brightness, check that. Maybe safe mode and see if you have the same battery results.

It's nothing to do with any apps you installed, it's the bad battery optimization with the UI 8.0. 8.5 fixes it, but Samsung refuses to release the update for the older phones because they want to max out sales on the s26 phones, and people already not going for the 26 because it's no real hardware improvements this year except for the screen privacy trick and camera stabilizer feature.

I use Smart Switch, so it went from the S22 Ultra to S26 Ultra initially. But when I didn't like the display, I then got this S25 Ultra and used S.S. between the S22-S25. I then go in and make sure all my settings and apps are correct.

Even though the S25 Ultra has One UI 8.0 (with 8.5 coming) it still seems that over the past 3 weeks the battery life is dropping. Basically went from 18-20hr with 7-8hr SOT to 12-13gr with with 6-7 SOT.

This was from yesterday. As usual I would take the phone off the charger at 2am when I get up. Start working about 6am which I use the phone a lot on, and by 3pm the battery was about empty, 13hr 23min standby time with 6hr 48min SOT.

Yesterday, after charging the phone, I tried something different and took it off at 6pm, didn't use it any. Went to bed about 7pm and got up today at 2am. At that point he phone hasn't been used, just the AOD, and was down to 90% capacity. Started work at 6am and battery was about 80%. By 4pm the battery was down to 8% with 22hr standby time and 7hr SOT.

So comparing yesterday and today's, it is weird to me how it was 13hr standby with almost 7hr SOT, and today was 22hr standby (6pm-2am no use for 8hr) with 7hr SOT.

Same here, had a s22U before that had way better battery life compared to s25U.
