Thank you. Ive done all troubleshooting prior to posting. I Uninstalled Google messages as well & still the same issue. I had no issues up until yesterday. I perform routine maintenance periodically. I reverted back to Samsung messages for now. My main concern is the fast charging...which like the messages was not an issue until today

I have found, that every 2 to 3 yrs my galaxy S model I have at the time always does this then I'm forced to just buy a new phone cause it's so bad! Phone battery dies fast, takes forever for anything to function on the phone. Multiple hard resets a day. Just get tired of it so I go buy another phone.

Did you only clear the cache, or did you clear the data as well? Clearing the data will not delete any messages, it only refreshes the app and you will have to redo all your settings. I suspect there may be a corruption in the data. You can uninstall Google Messages (if you need to) from it's page in the Play store.

Every 2 or 3 years you have a major glitch that's so bad you have to replace your phone? I suspect that you do not perform regular maintenance on those devices - rebooting regularly (auto optimization), regularly cleaning out app caches (for the biggest cache hogs like social media and maps) and optimizing your apps (using Good Guardians App Booster). Start doing this on your S25 and you should not run into that issue.

Hello LucyCurls welcome to the Samsung Community! I can understand the confusion at why your phone must be behaving in such a way that you can’t use it as intended. I will be happy to troubleshoot with you today to see if we can solve this issue together. To start, I first recommend trying to clear out files by looking at your storage in your settings. Sometimes your phone may be full on storage, and you may have a little too many applications or photos. Nevertheless, please check out the link here for more information on how to troubleshoot your issue.

Well, then try the uninstall process through the Play store. Through the phone, you cannot uninstall the app, only disable it. But, if you go to the Play store and search for Google Messages, (you can also long press on the app icon and tap the info symbol and tap "app details in store" to bring you directly to the app page) you will be able to uninstall it there.

Other than the update, have you downloaded any apps lately? Sometimes third party apps can interfere with native apps. Even if an app was on your phone before, and update could have done something. Try booting your phone into safe mode. This will load only Samsung and Google apps. You can see if the problem persists in safe mode. A warning, though, that this will mess up some of your home screen structure upon return to normal. If you have Good Lock's home up module you can make sure your home screen layout is backed up and then restore it.

this is happening to me too. the phones idle temp is around 60C-65C. Very hot. And battery burning down 4x faster than normal. My wife has the same phone, she didnt do the update, and is not experiencing this issue. I've tried deleting a bunch of apps which were on the top of the CPU usage list such as twitter and chrome. Still persists. This has to be an issue with the update, not sure what else i can try.

To ask the obvious, did you try a simple reboot to optimize? After an update I always do an extra reboot, to make sure the update has completed. Download Good Guardians and the battery guardian, thermal guardian and app booster modules. App booster will optimize your apps (like Windows' defragmenter) and battery guardian and thermal guardian may help you pinpoint what's causing the overheating. It's likely not an app causing the battery drain, per se, but if something is causing overheating, heat will drain the battery.

If none of that is helpful, make sure you have a backup of your phone and plan on a factory reset.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do.

Samsung makes these apps modular (Good Guardians is an official Samsung app), in order to allow users extra control over the workings of their phones. Just as you can defragment Windows manually, even though it does automatic optimization. The insights that Thermal Guardian and Battery Guardian gives, is an option to help you troubleshoot. No one forces you to download the app to take advantage of these features.

Other manufacturers do no automatically optimize apps. They may optimize your phone's performance, which is different, but I'm not sure they even do that. For proper phone optimization, no matter which brand you have, you need to periodically restart your phone. Samsung phones optimize performance, but you still have to periodically restart your phone, and they have a handy little setting to do it automatically - auto opitimization, so you don't even have to remember to do it yourself.
