There's no locking and unlocking. As I said in my previous reply, an authorized service center can flash unlocked firmware to your phone. If the location you visited is unable to do that, see this link to find another location near you:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/

If this has been asked I apologize. I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge S25. I got it back in October so it's too late to send it back for a refund. It is a refurb, I have T-Mobile, and discovered long after my window to return it, it was a Verizon phone. I have been unable to update the phone software, since November, I took it to a service center today and the guy told me that it's because was a Verizon phone trying to update on the T-Mobile network. Is that accurate? If so is there a way to fix it? Appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Yes, that's accurate. The phone is trying to download an update from Verizon servers and can't because of the T-Mobile SIM. The service center should've told you about flashing unlocked firmware.

Your options at this point are:

1. Temporarily install a Verizon SIM (it doesn't have to be active) to get updates. You will have to do this every time there's an update.

2. Take your phone to an authorized service center to have them flash unlocked firmware. There will be a fee for this service, but it will allow you to get OTA updates regardless of which carrier's SIM is installed.

Was the service center you visited an authorized repair partner for Samsung?

Thank you, it does seem like it's a verizon/ tmobile issue. I guess I just have to keep on trying to figure it out. The tech that I met with over the weekend said that there might be a place that will kind of relock the phone, then unlock it again with the T-Mobile? I don't know if that is even something that they can do.
