Contact Photo As Notification Icon

Hi all!

I recently switched to Google Messages from Samsung Messages. I used to set contact photos as the message icon when they'd text me and a tiny contact photo would show in lieu of the message icon. Is this possible with Google Messages? Or am I out of luck??? Thanks!

If I'm remembering right in your Google account profile if I got that right theres a photo option to have your photo show to others i.e calls or text etc.. the same would be done with your contacts for it to appear which in Google messages shows on side or top when open message

to your Google Account settings.

Tap/click on your current profile picture.

Follow the on-screen instructions to upload, crop, and save a new photo.

The photo I have asdigned to my contacts in the contacts app, is the one that shows up in Google messages, and on the notification icon. I didn't have to do anything special for it.

Yes just hold the icon symbol down and edit will pop up. Choose from there.
