I am getting the same ad. I don't see a way to close it. I have to close the app entirely. It is making it impossible to use. I am probably missing something on closing it? If I will stop using the app until it is fixed. Might not ever go back as there are plenty of other ways to get news that doesn't cause this issue.

I have an S25 Ultra. A $1400 phone and Samsung serving ads on their news app is bad enough, but now I'm getting full screen pop-up ads in the news page which is completely unacceptable. I will be done using Samsung News. And if I keep seeing ads elsewhere in Samsung apps, I will be done with Samsung. I will switch to Apple, even though it's not my first choice. Ridiculous if I'm paying over $1,000 for a phone and getting served ads. This is completely unacceptable. And completely ridiculous, quite honestly. Shame on you, Samsung.

Did you buy your phone directly from Samsung so it's unlocked, or, did you buy it through a cell carrier company so it's carrier locked? I have never heard of nor seen Samsung push advertisements out to customers, it is 100% of the time the phone being carrier locked even though it's paid off and the carrier still has access to push out their BS.

It's only happened to me on their news page when I swipe all the way to the left to use their Samsung news page, but I've never had it show full-screen pop-up ads before. They always have just the little ads that try to trick you into clicking them because they look like articles.

This is the ad that just popped up a few minutes ago when I went into Samsung News by swiping all the way to the left of my screen and was reading a couple of articles. It definitely did not come from clicking on one of the frozen ads in the list of articles. I had opened an article, and about a split second later it popped up. I know it’s not something with my phone because it never pops up other than from the Samsung News app.

Very true that will be my first step to stop using the app but this may be one thing that pushes me more away from Samsung. Find it completely unacceptable that they think it's okay to show ads on such a high cost device. Now if I had made the choice to save money to be served ads and get the phone for less money then okay but I did not do that. The fact that Samsung News can be embedded into their home screen makes me feel like it's more than just some third‑party app that shows ads. It feels integrated into the OS, and for them to serve up ads that way is wrong.

I was searching for the same issue and found this post. I have a galaxy fold 7. I thought I had installed adware, but now I know. It is helpful to see that others have experienced similar ads. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Maybe if enough of us are vocal about this Samsung will get the hint that we don't like ads on our greater than $1,000 smartphones served up by Samsung
