Thank you so much @Tom6068 , this gives me more hope in my case and gives me another path to a solution. I already had a long call with Affirm and they really tried to help, but it was out of their hands at this point, and Samsung hasn't helped at all and even refuses to help further now. I will absolutely file these complaints, I didn't even know these resources were available, let alone so accessible for consumers.

I hope I may be able to follow up if or when a resolution is made.

Thanks so much again for helping.

New Galaxy Club Installments

As part of the benefits with upgrading with New Galaxy Club, it is promised that with upgrading, if the original device was purchased with Samsung Financing and the upgrade is made after 12 months, then the remaining installments with Affirm will be paid by Samsung.

I am fighting tooth and nail with support to try and get them to finally send the refund. I have heard from multiple agents including supervising agents that Samsung will certainly pay off the remaining installments. I have paid my full 12 months of New Galaxy Club. I was able to upgrade to the S26 Ultra in a super streamlined process from the S26 Ultra product page as I was signed into my Samsung account while browsing, so it recognized my S25 Ultra and active New Galaxy Club subscription. It pulled my IMEI and it was eligible for upgrade. I can even see in my products page that my New Galaxy Club upgrade has been redeemed. I also even asked a chat agent for reassurance before upgrading to the S26 Ultra that my remaining installments will be paid by Samsung, and they replied yes.

With that said, the trade in was accepted on April 2nd, 2026 after sending it on March 17th, 2026. Samsung first tried shifting blame to Affirm but they haven't received anything even past 10 business days. From then, I have tried multiple times for Samsung to address it but I am truly getting nowhere. I can't even make a dispute with Affirm since the purchase was made 120+ days ago.

Case after case being made with Samsung hoping to get help, but it feels like I've really hit a wall. Samsung already took the money from Affirm, and this scam tactic really roped me into having to continue paying more installments on a phone that Samsung already accepted for trade-in despite being clear that they do not accept devices that are not fully paid off prior to trading in.

How are other peoples experience with this? I hope I'm not alone, but I also hope no one is being subject to this scam.

@fishkid That is just wrong and on that one part, Samsung is liable and must make this right. The customer's end was fulfilled and Samsung "accepted" it, think about that. Samsung accepted that exchange as valid, and is now waving off their end of the deal they accepted and acknowledged by them that the transaction offer by the terms was valid, completed and made final by Samsung. I think that has legal ramifications. With the Affirm process having that 120day limit, it almost feels like a design to string out the customer and once Affirm hits their part of the bargain of their part being 120 days and that is passed now, they are no longer responsible.

File a complaint with the BBB and with the state's AG. Include screenshots of Samsung confirming they’d pay Affirm. Also ask Affirm in writing for proof Samsung never contacted them, that should make the paper trail clearly going to Samsung.

The customer gets stuck still paying down a device already in Samsung's hand while they blame Affirm which is still getting the installments for a device the user no longer has that Samsung possesses according to the membership terms.
