Tasty Travels Add

Help! I literally cannot take it anymore! I've tried everything I know of to block this Tasty Travels app from sending ads and it is still invading everything! It blocks and locks up the screen. How do I stop it?

Download good Lock's nice catch, turn on detect toasts and detect commercials. Find out which app is sending that ad and uninstall it. Make sure app protection is turned on in your security settings, then run a scan to see if there is any malware on your phone.

If an app is bombarding you with invasive ads that is locking up your device screen then you obviously have downloaded a rogue app that should be immediately uninstalled and removed from your device.

The thing is I don't have that app on my phone. I haven't downloaded any gaming apps I don't play them. It started last week and I haven't added any apps since last week.

Ads and pop-ups are generally due to a third-party app that you installed or malware you picked up from a website. Download Good Lock and install the Nice Catch module. Toggle "toast history" and "detect commercials" to find out which app is the culprit. You can then uninstall that app.

Hi @GardenWitch thanks for reaching out to the Samsung Community. Unwanted ads can be such a pain, so I absolutely understand wanting them gone, so let me try and help. Just as stated from the members before, this sounds like a 3rd party application or launcher causing this. The one thing I would suggest is to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the ad stops. If it does, we know there is something that needs to be deleted off the device.

Same issue, it's only popping up on the Samsung news app whenever I go to read an article, and there's no exit button, you play the game in the ad, until it get to a certain point at it takes you to a download page. It's not locking the phone up, just not allowing me to use Samsung News, and it only started after an update.

Well, you can use a different news service. You can tap the "contact us" link in the settings, and inform Samsung that one of their advertisers has an intrusive ad that will not let you see your news. For the record, I do not use Samsung news, but when I open it up I get no ads that takeover my screen. For that matter, I see no advertisements whatsoever - not even static ones. I can pop in, read a headline or article and I don't get that ad. It's also possible the ad is coming directly from the news source that you are looking at. You could have malware. You could uninstall the news app and reinstall it.

I'll try your solutions, but using another app doesn't resolve the problem, and the only reason I'm aware of it is because I've attempted to read headlines that pop up ....

Using another app solves the issue of the ad popping up when using Samsung news (if it's only happening in Samsung news. But, as I said, Samsung news doesn't normally deliver ads, let alone interactive pop-up ads. You have some malware. I suggest you run a scan on your phone - either the native app protection, or download Malwarebytes and run a scan. If something attached itself to the news app, uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, would potentially solve the problem.

Given that it's an ad for a game, you might be getting the add from the Galaxy store, which is somehow being triggered by opening Samsung news. Go to settings/Samsung account/security and privacy and turn off get news and special offers. It may or may not work (it won't work if what you are seeing is malware).
