I purchased my phone from Verizon and an old no longer valid email address was used. When I try to change my email address Samsung keeps asking me for a verification number that is being sent to my old email address. When I tried to contact Samsung I was sent to a chat box and after a lengthy conversation I was told they could solve my problem for 5 dollars. When you try to contact the CEO who has plenty of time for a puff piece, you get sent to the same chat box. Can anyone tell me if they know of a reputable cell phone company

Samsung wants $5 to remedy a defunct email address that was once valid? That sounds like a scam to me. How was Samsung contacted? Was it the actual Samsung chat online or calling the support number?
