Thanks for your response. It's a wireless connection. I do not charge it when I am using it in the car. I switch between a wireless charger and my Samsung charger when I am at home. Should I review the app battery consumption when I am using it in the car or just in general?

My S26U gets hot when I have it connected to Android Auto in my car. It only happens with I am using maps and listening to music during my drive. During a drive a couple months ago it got so hot, even taking the case off didn't help. I had to hold it in front of my air conditioner and just power it down. Should I contact Samsung about this? I purchased it through them. My iPhone or Pixel doesn't do that when connected to my car.

Hmm i have an s26u as well and i have not had any issues like this...even with maps + music running in the car, so that definitely doesn’t sound normal
If your phone is still under a year old you can look into Samsung Care+ ..it can really help with issues like this if something’s off with the device
but honestly yeah, I would reach out to Samsung support too...especially since you bought it directly from them, they should be able to check if it’s a hardware or software thing 👍

I also have an S26U and am always listening to music and using Maps with AA. No overheating issues.

It will take a little detective work to figure out what's going on. Start by looking at your battery details to see which apps/processes are consuming battery.

Are you using a wired or wireless AA connection? Do you use a wireless charger?

Take a look at battery details in both instances, but especially when you're using AA.
