Advertisement Removal

I need help in removing an advertisement which appears on my screen every time I turn my phone on. This advertisement appeared on my phone one day last week. Verizon (my carrier) told me that Samsung inserted that advertisement. I called Samsung support and they were not successful in removing it. Help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Samsung does not put ads on the lock screens of their devices by default.

It looks like you have a third party lock screen installed on your device. The lock screen you show is slightly different from what the official Samsung lock screen looks like.

See my attached screenshots for the differences in shortcuts and unlock prompts. The clock in the status bar (top left) is also a giveaway that this is not the default lock screen. That should show your carrier info, not another clock.

This could be an app you have inadvertantly installed, or it could be one your carrier installed. Either way, you will need to identify and uninstall the offending app.

Do you remember when you saw it first time?
Was it there when you got the phone or it happened recently?

Long press on the banner and it should let you turn off the notification

That looks like a news briefing, not an advertisement. Do you have news briefs selected in your now bar settings?
