Edge panels not launching when keyboard is active

The edge panel does not show up if the keyboard is active.

This is definitely something that's new.

My edge panel is always available. Are you using the stock keyboard?

I also use Gboard. Try toggling the edge panel off and back on. If that does nothing, clear cache & data for System UI in settings > apps. You'll have to show system apps in the app list.

Works in different position, but on 22/24 it didn't matter

Hi droid1896, welcome back to The Samsung Community. I can imagine that is frustrating wanting to use the edge panel while the keyboard is up. Let me get a little more information about the problem, so I can better assist. Do the edge panels work when the keyboard isn't up? Have you tried any of the steps that Mujibar has suggested? Have you tried a restart of your device? Please let us know what you have tried to resolve this issue.

Hi,
The panel works when the handle set above the keyboard. But if the handle is overlapping then it won't let me launch the panels, and another thing the panel is not scaled with the minimum width. All other app, icons , settings scale with the minimum width setting. Not the panel

The panel has never scaled with minimum width. It's the same way on my OnePlus 13, and was the same on the S23U I used to have.

This is Samsung bro, it used to scale until one ui 7.

Same on the S23 Ultra. If the Gboard keyboard overlaps even slightly with the panel, the panel handle disappears. If the panel handle is moved up, then it doesn't disappear when the Gboard keyboard is in view.

I found that with Google keyboard, switching to the floating keyboard setting, minimizing the keyboard and then switching back allows the edge panel to show. It does not work with Samsung keyboard and, unfortunately, does not keep that configuration between apps or sessions in the same app. It's probably easier just to move the edge panel handle to another location.

I tried the floating keyboard trick on the S23 Ultra and it works for me for that instance. However, the next time I do something that needs the keyboard, it hides the edge panel handle once again. ☹️ For now, I have just moved the handle up enough to not overlap the keyboard.

You don't even have to toggle the floating keyboard, just retract the keyboard if you need to use the edge panel. I can understand why it wouldn't appear over the keyboard. It would be a distraction and may accidentally activate if tou use swipe typing.
