Anyone know how to fix the sound notifications so they don't stop working? DND and airplane mode aren't on and I've tried all the other fixes. This is making me hate this phone.

To fix disappearing notification sounds on Galaxy S26 Ultra, try "Notification categories" are enabled under Notifications in Settings, verify that "App notifications" are set to "Alert" rather than "Silent," and check that "Battery optimization" for that apps

1. Make sure Multi Sound and Separate App Sound is off.

2. Whenever you notice a notification come in without sound go to settings search for notification history and tap and hold the latest notification, that'll bring you to its alert configuration settings. Make sure it's set to "Alert" and under "Sound" it's set to the default notification sound as it may be set to Silent as a sound.

3. if the first 2 steps didn't work, Enable Developer Options and check "show notification channel warning" and click on "reset notification importance" (honestly I'm not 100% exactly how either of those settings work, it may be related to something else but I've done it before and nothing bad happened lol. Maybe look up those settings if anything)

4. I use Samsung's "Sound Assistant" app (downloaded from the galaxy store) It allows for a bunch of sound customizations and advanced options plus a really detailed volume rocker with customisable theme. I recommend this to everyone, it's really handy.

It seems to work when I'm connected by android auto but stops when I'm not connected. Help!
