I had the pleasure of going around San Francisco testing out the new S26 Ultra, and my favorite feature by far is the video stabilization with horizon lock. I tested this with a friend running after me down hill as I did some backflips, and compared it to my Z Fold. The footage was absolutely crazy! The video was so good people thought it was fake! 🤣 Incredible feature, incredible device, incredible camera system! 👏

Considering there is no double your storage offer or trade-in offer on buds, there is zero incentive to preorder.

Buy a gimbal for less than $200. Problem solved and money saved.

But you are right about free will. Many like me are using free will to not open our wallets to Samsung this year. There is zero interest in upgrading from a S24U or S25U, for the price, when a gimbal provides the same "upgrade" for less.

For many, including existing customers, we feel that Samsung should do better. Even more so as they choose the "ultra" moniker on what is now a pretty average brick.

I'm sorry you do not feel this years upgrades suit your needs! I personally know of a lot of people who will thoroughly enjoy this upgrade and all that the new S26 Ultra has to offer! The amazing thing about Samsung, is if you do your research you can find the perfect device that will suit all of your needs. For some its a fold or flip, for some its an Ultra, for some its waiting a few years until there are upgrades beneficial to the user. Either way I love it here. ❤

My needs are currently suited with a S25U. Samsung doesn't get my money this year. Maybe next year.

The horizon lock is actually top tier. The super steady is already good but the fact that the subject in focus on the camera STAYS at the same spot no matter the direction or orientation? Very good job

Is it really convenient to carry a gimbal everywhere with you though?
It’s another device to charge, another thing to pack, and not something most people just throw in a small bag or pocket. For quick moments, travel, or everyday filming, built-in stabilization is just more practical.

Is it convenient to acquire half the storage you had for the same cost you paid the year prior?
At that point, the feature doesn't matter cause I wouldn't have enough storage to enjoy it.

Nobody is pushing you to upgrade right now, that’s totally your choice.
But saying a gimbal replaces built-in features isn’t really the same thing.

What I'm saying is save your money and buy a gimbal instead because that feature is not worth my wallet opening up.

I don't care about a built-in feature in a device that is more or less the same as the previous year when that device will cost more for less.

My wallet opens up to the gimbal for that single feature. I'll save a lot of money and have the option to use other devices as well. Win for me, a message to Samsung from me and many other existing customers to do better next year.

The video was spot on! And seeing all the horizon lock videos from everyone I see why this is better than lugging around a gimbal. Personally I have 3x gimbals and I hate them lol I much rather a built in feature
