topic Samsung Health sync (now) not working in Galaxy S26

Hi there,

I have a S26 Ultra phone and GW8. Both have latest OS updates installed.

Since updating my phone my Samsung Health is no longer syncing. Last sync update is on 7 March and I got my S26 the same day.

I have disconnected GW8 from Wearable and reconnected - no changes. I have factory reset my watch, restored it from the backup and still nothing. The "Sync now" button is grayed out.

I find the connection between SH and GW very faulty.

After first disconnecting and reconnecting my GW it no longer vibrated when my alarm went off and it didn't voice SH workout updates via my headset, however, it did vibrate after 30min mark. After the initial connection between the new phone and my watch it did work.

Today out of nowhere watch data was no longer syncing with SH. After factory reset it finally works.

Every day SH struggled to update sleep data, then it didn't want to measure body temperature or oxygen level. With my old phone I never had such issues.

All other backups sync with no issues, only SH doesn't.

Does anyone have any suggestions what to do? Or should I just wait for OS updates in hopes this is fixed? I have seen more people having similar issues, but for some factory reset has worked.

Thanks!

Make sure the location is toggled on in your watch settings. Under Samsung Health on your phone click on Sleep then Accessories the top right hand corner. Hit sync, then it should connect.

Everything is enabled and still no result.

Forgot to mention in my original post that my watch is no longer showing watch steps in 3rd party apps. I have enabled literally everything and 3rd party apps count only phone steps. I have changed priority which device should be considered as first, I have given all rights. Nothing works.

Something in S26 is not working as it should.

Exact same setup and problem. Some things work and some don't. No Sleep Data and therefore no Energy Score. There at least seems to be some synchronization of steps, but the total on the watch and phone are never exactly the same even right after synching, as they would have been before.

After 2 resets made no difference, I also tried a reddit suggestion re. removing the Wear App on the phone then reinstalling and doing "transfer to new phone" from the general setting on the watch, but it wouldn't let me just transfer and kept giving a message that I had to reset the watch.

I also did the same Reddit suggestion and had the same watch response - reset the watch.

Some things are working again after the reset, bet I still have problems with phone not vibrating when I receive calls or text messages (it does vibrate during workouts), 3rd party apps still not receiving full info and sync (now) still not working.

I personally have not seen any announcements from Samsung that they acknowledge these issues and they will be fixed. I hope the next OS update will cover this.

Thanks for checking in on this. I decided to give it one more try and the fourth reset now has Samsung Health back to normal. Here's the procedure I followed. Why it worked this time and not the previous time I have no idea. Guess we'll see how long it lasts:

Turn the watch off

Uninstall the Wear app on the phone

Reboot the phone

Restart the Watch

Reinstall the Wear app on the phone

Go to General settings on the watch

Do "Transfer watch to new phone"

Do Reset

Run the Wear App on the phone

Restore the last backup to the watch

Make sure the watch is well charged to start with and on a charger for the entire restore, because it burns a LOT of battery.

Hi there,

What issues did you face?

My watch works almost as it's supposed it. Now it only doesn't vibrate when someone calls.

The sync now issue persists, but I think that is a separate issue to GW issues. Maybe I'm wrong. Before I try the reset again I want to know whether you faces sync issues as well and if they're solved now.

Thanks!

I was not getting sleep, energy score, and other data in samsung health, and the step counts on the watch and phone were different and stayed different when I did try to sync within the Samsung Health app.

That has all been fixed with the reset that did finally work for me, and I just confirmed that "Sync Now" in settings is also enabled and shows my last sync time just a few minutes ago. Normally, I just do a sync by swiping down on the home screen in Samsung Health if necessary, so I can't tell you what that setting looked like when I was having problems.
