Is "Finder" Gone For Good?

When I first received my Galaxy S26 Ultra, it had an annoying (for me) object called Finder near the bottom of the home screen, which I could not get rid of. Now that I've spent time customizing the phone to my liking, I've noticed that Finder seems to have gone away. Hooray. Is it gone forever?

No, it's not gone. There's a toggle in home screen settings that you must've turned off.

Yes, I didn't like it on my homescreen either. It's in my app drawer and my notification shade, don't need it on my homescreen too!

How many different ways do you need to access the same feature? Samsung is all about redundancy.

I have my dock turned off which also turns off the finder icon. I don't find a need to have a dock on my 2 screens.

Mirroring iOS spotlight

Available above the dock, by pulling down on the Home Screen, and in the "App Library"

Industry standards are industry standards, the big 2 tend to mirror each other very closely. Both want to have a reciprocal version of every single feature at this point

I looked for a toggle in the settings and could not find one named as such. But evidently, something I did made it go way.

If you're old enough to remember Mugsy and Rocky from Bugs Bunny cartoons, one of Rocky's big lines (besides Shaddup!) was "I don't know how ya's done it, I just know ya's done it." So I guess I done it.

All about redundancy until they are not. Like when you're looking for a singular setting buried 3 menus deep in a category you don't expect it to be.
