No one should have to pay for a replacement even if it out of the return window. But I guess if buying the device from a retailer they have conditions. When I received the new one, exactly the same thing happened.

Does anyone here know anything about this?

I’ve read that it happens to many of us and not to others.

Is it a batch issue?

Or a design issue?

The first one I received was from a batch from late December 2025, I think, and the second one is from February, and the same thing happens.

I’m disappointed I swapped my S25 Ultra.

I’ve upgraded my S25 Ultra after getting a trade-in offer of $1,091, including double storage. I’m really happy with the phone and I think it was a good deal.
I paid that amount directly to my mobile provider; I preferred to pay the $58 to avoid waiting times and tedious paperwork.
I’ve looked into it further, but it seems Samsung is turning a blind eye to this issue. That’s why I’m posting here to see if anyone has resolved the problem by swapping for a newer batch or something similar.

And Samsung had better not try to claim that this is ‘normal’, as it doesn’t happen on the S25 or S24 Ultra. And for a high-end phone, it leaves a lot to be desired, especially for those of us living in cold climates.
Samsung will do everything it can to avoid acknowledging the issue and issuing a general recall.

One has to do with what they buy and the value they get/got from it and think is best for them. I had the S26U pre-ordered from Best Buy unlocked version with the double storage offer & $900 trade in for my S25U.

But after physically operating the S26U at Best Buy they had there to use, I carefully considered the overall specs, reading/watching reliable reviewers. I avoid listening/reading from biased loyal brand adherents or from those just being anti-Samsung. I then considered that cool privacy screen tech that I would not ever need, the minor camera hardware upgrade etc and so I canceled the order.

The upgrade would have been marginal at best for less of a deal than I got with my S25U. I want the camera system Samsung has ignored for too long with iterative upgrades and then not providing one software update to the S25U camera system; that there still sits with me wrong.

Samsung has one thing I think kinda cornered & that is overall smartphone operability & customization. No one compares to them there. But that has hit a limit for me as that selling point wore out.
