I'm wondering why there isn't an option to activate the privacy display with l when I pull down my notification panel where all of my notifications are stored. That seems like something that was completely overlooked.

If it's not currently in your quick settings (it was there by default on my S26U), you can add the toggle. Pull down your quick panel, tap the pencil icon, and tap "add a control" at the bottom.

Sorry I have the quick setting. I'm referring to the privacy screen effect not applying to the notifications if you drag them down from the left side of the screen. Like where it lists all your current notifications.

I think you would have to set up a routine to exclude notifications when activating the privacy screen.

Yes but why? Why wasn't it built in a as part of the feature from day one? Same thing with my lock screen if I open it, all those notifications are visible.

No one here can answer that. It was designed to default to an all-or-nothing setting, just like a physical privacy screen protector. There is a way to set custom operating parameters through routines, which I think is the real advantage of this feature.

EDIT: If you don't want notifications to be readable on your lockscreen, change the setting under settings > notifications > hide content while locked.
