On newer devices there's no need of a cache partition as there's nothing to wipe. But, Samsung needs to bring back the ability to unlock the Bootloader because that just destroys the value of current Samsung phones and devices.

With the removal of the dedicated "Wipe Cache Partition" in recent Samsung updates, you can now only clear cache on a per-app basis via Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Storage > Clear cache. System-level cache is now handled automatically by Android, though you can still use the Device Care tool to optimize memory and temporary files.

For power users like me, this might be the straw that broke the camels back and I have been a dedicated Samsung user since the flip phone.

Why would they dumb down such an expensive phone like this? Not many people use the feature, but those of us who do, use it at least once a week!

Please comment and tell anyone who has any pull with Samsung to please bring this back ASAP!

I can work around the Bluetooth features for the S-pen being removed and the ability to handwriting text messages in third party app, but THIS was an absolute necessity for me.

Ok, so I've heard it's good to clear the cache partition after an update, but I've noticed that option was no longer on my S25U and not on my S26U either. What am I missing here? I can get into recovery mode but the only two options are reboot and factory reset. Thanks

The wipe cache partition (WCP) option was removed with the February security patch. This is in line with other Android OEMs who have also removed that option from recovery. Seamless updates with A/B partitions make manually clearing device cache after a system update moot.

Your S25U and S26U both utilize seamless updates. The WCP option never did anything for those devices, anyway, as they don't have a cache partition to clear.

The cache will clear automatically on the active partition without intentional intervention as in using the Device Care optimize function and/or Good Guardians' "Galaxy App Booster". Example, if it sits idle for a period of time, during charging or during device restarts as well will clear out cruft etc.

With out the option in recovery I have to delete in app settings 1 by 1 or use an app to n do it via automated opening and cache wiping each app settingsnpage.

Your device employs a dual-partition architecture and doesn't even have a dedicated cache partition. The WCP option did *nothing* for your S25U. It's a legacy leftover that Samsung finally got rid of. It only ever benefited single-partition devices.

See this article for details on how dual-partition systems work:

https://www.howtogeek.com/356365/why-android-no-longer-needs-a-cache-partition/

Correct me if I am wrong, WCP only deletes temporary system data, log files, and app remnants. It doesn't clear cache of individual apps, it doesn't clear RAM. That has still be done by going to an apps info page one by one to clear cache. Ram you can clear by closing apps or using device care.

Because we have A/B partition it automatically gets cleared on the reboot

You are correct. But that only applies to dual-partition devices, like the S25 and S26 series.

So what are people with single-partition devices (the vast majority of Samsung devices in the world) supposed to do? Samsung got rid of the "easy fix" option for them.
