Keyboard is covering the text box on the cover screen

I use my cover screen to reply to messages all the time. In the last week, I'm not able to do this anymore. When I try to reply to messages on the cover screen, I can't see what I'm typing because the text box is blocked by the keyboard.

Do you have the floating keyboard enabled? If so, try turning it off.

Try to clear the Cache of the app then restart your phone. Hope this works.

I gave up on Google Messages, switched to Samsung Messages, and the issue went away immediately. I cleared the cache from Google messages, and it did not fix it. This issue has nothing to do with font or keyboard size, nor floating keyboard. I don't think everyone responding understands this specific issue. I cannot say why Google messages got messed up, and I assume they must know this is an issue and will fix in a forthcoming update, but switching to Samsung Messages solves it immediately.

Go to yours apps, hit the Search (magnifying glass) icon up near top right. You'll see two apps named "Messages". Samsung is the one with the blue background and the "tail" of the text bubble going to the left. (Google is the other one with white background and text bubble going to right.) Select the Samsung Messages one. It will prompt you to make it the default messaging app. Select it as default.

You'll then want to delete the Google one from your home screen by holding down on it until the options pop up. Finally add Samsung Messages to home screen by finding it again in Apps, holding down on it, and selecting the "Add to Home Screen" option. It will come up with all the texts you got or sent via Google as unread. Make sure you check for any that actually did just come in, and then go to three dots on top right and Select "Mark all as read"

My phone just started doing this. Tried every trick to fix. I usually never have to open my phone to text. It's so annoying

My wife's s25 ultra just started doing this a couple of days ago. My s25 ultra doesn't have this issue. Strange. We were chatting with a samsung tech last night to no avail. Reading these here, it's sounding like a Google issue not really samsung. Any way to check if this issue is being worked on? Why some phones and not others?

Hello everyone, Welcome to the Community, and thank you for reaching out. We know how frustrating it is the keyboard is covering the text in Messages.

Has anyone tried to reset the keyboard settings? For the Samsung keyboard go to Phone Settings>General Management>Samsung keyboard settings>Reset to default settings

Thank you @MichaelDrums for the steps to switch to Samsung Messages. This is a great workaround.

I was just on a chat with Samsung and nothing they suggested fixed the issue. They suggested that I take it to be serviced.

You can go into the app through the apps tab under settings and delete the updates, and that takes care of it.
