I have now able to see and send messages on the messenger app. I still can not read the older part my chat with some of my friends on my fold 6 but can on tab 10 ultra and dell laptop, but I can now send and see messages. This is how I was able to get this far
1-Open messagener app
2- Click on menu
3-Click on settings
4- Click privacy and safety
5- Click end to end encrypted chats
6-cluck on message storage
7- Trun off secure storage
8- This fixed my tablet 10 ultra and dell laptop.
9- On my fold 6, I can now at least start a new message and can see the reply. As far as an earlier part of a saved chat, I can read them on my tablet and laptop

With end to end encryption, the messages are safe from anyone who happens to intercept a message.

You need to contact Facebook. This is obviously a Messenger issue, not a Samsung issue. I have never had to enter a code to read a message from someone in Facebook Messenger. So, do make sure the code you are entering is legitimately coming from Facebook, and not some scammer trying to get access to your messages. Anyway, Open Facebook Messenger, go to the 3-bar side menu and open it. Tap the settings gear and scroll to privacy and safety, then adjust the settings in End-to-end encrypted chats. Go to Message storage and turn off secure storage. You may have to set/or reset a PIN, but you should not have to enter it every time you get a message, unless you have switched devices. Then you should only have to enter the pin or recovery code to retrieve past messages.

I suggest you go to the app settings by long pressing the messenger icon, tapping on the circled "i" and scrolling to storage and deleting the cache and data. Something may be gumming up your works. If you are only getting the code request from chats with your husband, perhaps one or both of you have a setting wrong that requires the recipient to enter a code to see the message. If you are not being asked for a code for all messages from everybody, there is something wrong between your and your husband's chat settings. Encryption is global for the app. You can't encrypt or unencrypt one chat. You and your husband may have to delete the chat stream in your apps and recreate it - you will lose all previous messages if you do that.

100% not Samsung issue. Your messenger is probably not verified or connected correctly and messenger is protecting messages via the codes. You may have multiple authorizations needed to see messages.
Hopefully you've gotten everything figured out and don't even need any more help, Goodluck.
