Speaker shouldn't end call when closing phone

Heya, just a suggestion, I don't think your phone should hang up if you have it on speaker and you fold your phone shut. It should only do it when it's not on speaker. I've had many times where my girl and I both would be on a call on speaker and close the phone out of habit/to protect the screen and it would hang up. It shouldn't do that.

Hi, AllOverTechware!

There is a feature in the settings that would turn off the auto hang up feature. It would however, stop all calls from hanging up when you close the phone.

You can access this feature, if you choose, by following these steps:

Open your phone app

Click on the three dots in the top right corner

click on settings

Then select Flip options

You can then turn on or off the 'close phone to end calls' feature.

I know. I said I don't want it to hang up on SPEAKER mode. I do, however, want it to hang up when I don't have the phone on speaker when closing the phone. This was a thing on old phones, it should be a thing on this phone, too.

If you can answer or make a call with the phone already closed, why not do that? If you can't make/take a call with the phone closed, what even is the point of a flip or fold?

You can answer it with it closed. And I do. It puts it in speaker mode. When you open the phone for any reason, say to do some research or something, then close it back it hangs up when still in speaker mode. Some people have jobs where it requires a lot of movement and hand usage where they can take little breaks to open said phone when on a call for a short time then close it again because their hands must be used, and they don't want anything to happen to the screen. Also, closing and opening the phone becomes such a huge habit you never think about it before you do it, you just do it then regret it because the phone hangs up a call on speaker phone when you go to close it back because you gotta go do something, etc.

Well, then you are right, there should be a means to disable that feature. However, what do you think would happen to the screen if you keep it open during a phone call? The screen will time out if you are not otherwise using it, just like normal bar phones, so burn in shouldn't be an issue. I, for one, would hate to spend so much money on a phone, just to be afraid to use it as it was meant to be used.

The screens are fragile, they break very very easily compared to a bar phone, hence why I like to keep it closed to protect it just in case I drop either the phone or I drop something on the phone. Have to be more careful with a device with a folding screen

That's unfortunate. Seems like a colossal waste of money to have a device you are afraid to use normally. It's like buying a very expensive outfit that you can't sit down in lest it rip apart.

Yeah, I know. You get it because it's different and cool. I mean I work home improvement and have had this phone for over a year and the only issue I've ever had with it is the screen protector that comes with it starts bubbling in the crease area, and that's it. I'm only on my second one as well. Maybe it's not as fragile as I think, but I prefer treating it that way.

And yes, I know, but also, I have had numerous posts reach Samsung techs prior so I figured I'd try again (this was on an old account I no longer have, wasn't sure if things have changed since.)
