Well phones were made for communication. Can't limit it. All we can do is reduce the amount of spam or identify it.

If anything they should make phone numberless Sim cards, to use mobile data on the go without calling benefits.

The problem is that I block the number but they call from a different one each time. Usually the same area code, though.

That's the problem we have now. Once they identify that you are associated with a phone number, they put it in a database. It's like someone checking to see if a house is vacant, if not then they keep coming back. All we can do is block and report them to prevent them or notiy others that it's a spam risk or dangerous

What's nice is that if you have an old phone you're not using anymore, you can install one of their data only SIMs in it and use it as a tablet. It's been great for navigation with Google Maps while driving cross country.

The technology does exist, they just choose not to offer it. Some carriers might in their spam blocking apps for carriers that have call blocking. I have a VOIP phone for home and I have the ability to block area codes and/or prefixes, should I choose to. So, I can block 718 (area code) or 718-738 (area code & prefix) and all numbers beginning with that area code and specific prefix will be blocked. Honestly, I don't know if the tech is something carrier controlled or can be controlled by the phone manufacturer.
