Google messages

I recently switched from Samsung messages to Google messages. So far I love it. The only issue I'm having is that with samsung messages when I missed a text message, when I pick up my fold it vibrate alerting me. But it doesn't happen with Google message. Is there a way I can have that feature?

Finally, some sanity around Google messages.

I don't understand, if you have your phone set to vibrate on missed notifications when you pick up the phone, it should vibrate if you missed a notification from Google Messages. Settings/motions and gestures/alert when phone picked up. Also, make sure you have notification categories on and for incoming messages turn on "vibrate". This way, when a message comes in, you will feel the vibration, whether the phone is in your hand or your pocket.

Yes i have all that on. But still it's not working. Which i still don't know if Google messages has that feature.

It's a feature of the phone, not the app. I get vibrations for any missed notification.

Yea i was getting it with samsung messages no problem. But now with Google messages only the text is not working. When I get a text message I get the vibrations. It's when I miss it when picking up my phone it's not working.

In retrospect it may only work with Samsung apps. I don't really recall whether I get the buzz for missed Google notifications, but I do get them for the members app and other Samsung notifications. Truth be told I don't pay that much attention, because even with out the vibe, I still get the notification icons - I also have a watch, which gives me notifications, so they are usually dealt with before I pick up the phone.
