I would never think of a fold or flip as a flagship. They always seemed more novelty/specialty devices. The flagships are the S models. I looked at those phones in the store and said, "nope".

@BodyaYU_A07 People said the same thing about electric windows in automobiles and many other products. As the foldable devices go through success generations they become more and more reliable. Personally, I started with the Fold 3 and have had every fold including the current Fold 7. No problems. I love the form factor's increased usability and would hate to see them disappear. I also have an S25 Ultra but the Fold 7 is my daily driver.

Yeah, my mom said that about electric windows...and cd players in car consoles. Turned out she ended up loving every modern development she didn't originally want (more accurately, didn't want to pay extra for).

I waited till the Fold 7 to purchase my first foldable.

It s usually cheaper to carry phone insurance and get a replacement phone than to have one repaired and the turn around is two days, not two weeks. For the life of me, I'll never understand why people would plop down $1.5k+ for a phone and not have it insured for breakage, loss, theft, and water damage.

Reliability isn't luxury. A car drives with a broken window, but a broken phone stops your work. My concept is a tool for those who can't afford failures. Why not have both? 🛡️

Insurance is just a bandage for fragile tech. A real flagship should be built to last, not to be replaced every time it fails. Why pay $1.5k for a phone that needs extra protection just to exist? 🛡️

'we' is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting in your post. What we need to continue doing is offering lots of choices and options for people. And let them decide what works better. What works for you might seem just as absurd to someone that uses that extra space all the time for blueprints or permits or really anything PDF without needing to carry around a tablet / use two devices.

We live in an imperfect world. Stuff happens. It's why we wear seat belts, bike helmets, and have phone cases. It is also why there is home, car, life, and health insurance.
