No image when unfolding phone after unlocking

All the sudden after I unlock my phone while it is closed, when I open it, it doesn't register that it's opened. I can re-lock my phone and then open it, and it will be fine. But I can't go from the outside screen to the inside screen smoothly anymore. It is just black with the outside screen still on.

Well.... Originally I tried a restart with my phone closed. That resulted in the same problem still. I tried doing a power off, then restarted the phone with the phone open. And this somehow fix the issue.
