I HATE the suggestion to throttle your device. You buy it for the specs, don't suggest we dumb it down cause you idiots have too much bloatware in the background.
Speaking of, STOP AUTO INSTALLING **bleep** ON MY PHONE

If so, than this would be normal behavior. It's going to charger slower, and dependent on the percentage you have left it will run out.

If you're not using it, try putting your device in Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003495/ And see if you notice a difference, if you do then more than likely it' s a third party application running in the background that's the cause.

My husband and I are have the same problem as JDFOR... plus, all of s sudden our chargers don't work anymore for the 2nd time in less than a month! What little we can charge takes 15hrs just to get ALMOST to 100% and that's with our phones OFF! No, obviously not using it while charging. Also, we have unlocked phones, but haven't gotten our updates yet for Jan... what exactly is going on?

If the adaptive battery app doesn't stop shutting off my charger I will have shut of the app. I go on the X spaces a lot and when going to speaker in a space it shuts off recharging completely and that 46 watt fast charger becomes worthless. It needs to just slow down the charging to prevent overheating that happens on X anyway in speaking mode. Heavy data user!

In those situations, charging can slow down or temporarily pause to prevent overheating. This is expected behavior, and charging typically resumes once the device cools or usage is reduced. We recommend pausing those activities briefly if you're trying to charge more quickly.

The biggest problem/nuisance is trying to force everyone into google assistant apps. Instead of google assistant being integrated, it's a completely seperate app that constantly drains battery. I use to have to uninstall the entire app constantly but now there's no option to and the only way to keep it from draining battery is by removing all of it's permissions, and then google messages becomes useless because bixby is useless outside of galaxy featured apps. You aren't even allowed to put it in sleeping apps or deep sleep. Battery drain has become a problem since Samsung started trying to copy apple instead of being themselves, and specifically due to the google assistant apps.

This happens every major update. The OS re-indexes apps, relearns usage patterns, and background optimization kicks into high gear for a few days. Most people panic instead of letting the adaptive battery settle. Give it a week, then check app usage—that’s where the real drains usually show up.
