Yes, it's flashed to the drive, so it's available to any OS.

I have a simple question about updating firmware on Samsung M.2 NVME drives.

If I update firmware on a M.2 NVME drive on Windows with Samsung Magician, will that firmware be present on the M.2 drive if I move it to a Linux box?

I'm pretty sure Samsung stores the firmware on the M.2 drive but I want to be sure.
