Hey, Parkhill, thank you for sharing this concern with us. This would be frustrating to deal with, especially if you haven't had any issues before.

Since the SSD was working perfectly until the update, the issue is likely due to a software or driver conflict rather than a hardware failure. To get Samsung Magician to recognize your drive again, please try these steps:

1) Check Windows Security Settings: Recent updates may trigger Windows "Memory Integrity" or "Core Isolation" to block Magician's access. Go to Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation and try toggling the settings to see if the drive reappears.

2) Update Samsung Magician: Ensure you are running the latest version (currently version 9.0.0 or higher), as older versions may have compatibility issues with newer Windows updates.

3) Reinstall the NVMe Driver: If you are using an NVMe drive, download and reinstall the official Samsung NVMe Driver. Windows updates sometimes replace this with a generic Microsoft driver that Magician cannot communicate with as effectively.

A couple of months ago, after a windows update, Samsung Magician stopped recognising my Samsung SSD. The SSD is 5 years old, and I have never had a problem. Magician identifies the disk as "non-Samsung", which is just wrong. Any ideas? I'm running Windows 11 Pro v 25H2.
