Hi, I have a large number of issues with the monitor, and it seems that others do too. I guess some people use third party software to fix it, but I'm unsure.

Issues:

Auto Source Switch is Disabled. Monitor still auto switches when any source wakes. This means I have to unplug my laptop when not in use as if it accidentally wakes my monitor switches inputs mid game.

Switching sources locks the previous source from being used unless the monitor is unplugged for a few minutes. It will also randomly resolve itself after some time.

I do not use the monitor as a TV, but if I mute the volume a "Sound Off" indicator flashes around my screen, in front of what I'm doing, until I turn the volume back up. This is a monitor. I use it as a monitor, not speakers/tv. How do I stop this from blocking parts of my screen? Why allow me to turn the volume down but block my screen when I do? It sounds as if you didn't intend to allow that.

I found other articles from others having the issues, including those who RMAd and the new monitor did it too, but nothing conclusive for actual fixes.

I also have a lot of complaints about how popups and notifications require me to put down my Xbox controller in the middle of competitive gaming to dismiss, but those are probably poor design choices and not bugs? If so, it needs a "monitor mode" to switch off of "forced smart TV features mode" please.

Hey lvl99fiona! Thanks for visiting the Community.

The Samsung Odyssey gaming screen has Anynet+ (also known as HDMI-CEC), which is a feature that allows connected external HDMI devices to inform your TV when they have turned on. By default, the TV will immediately switch to this source when this happens. The method to stop the TV or gaming screen from switching the source varies depending on the type of remote you have. Smart Remotes pair to your TV via Bluetooth, and IR remotes do not.

Important
Some devices may send a signal in error, causing the TV to switch to the source, even when the external device is not in use. This is an issue with the external device, and the manufacturer will typically release a firmware update to fix it. Try updating the firmware on the external device, and contact its manufacturer for further assistance.

Confirm the TV’s software is up to date.
For some TVs, the ability to turn automatic HDMI switching on or off was added as a firmware update. Make sure to update the TV before continuing.

Input the code.
Point the remote at the TV and input the following code: Mute, 7, 2, 9, Exit.

No indicator will appear on the screen after inputting this code. To test if the setting has changed, turn on a connected HDMI device.

Repeat Step 2.
If turning on a connected HDMI device causes the TV automatically to switch to it, then the code was not entered quickly enough. Service is not required for this issue. Once the code has been entered properly, the TV will not switch HDMI sources automatically.

Please let us know if this helps.
