Sorry, this is not possible. To the best of my knowledge, no set of Bluetooth Buds can do this. You pull them out, the music pauses, and put them back in music resumes. Put them in the case, music pauses.

They are designed that way. The same with my over the ear Headphones, take off my headphones, music pauses

Galaxy Earbuds 3 pro doesn't transfer audio back to phone when removed from ear. Music or video pauses when earbud is removed from ear. Resuming the video or music it continues to stream to earbud, even though earbud is removed from ear. Earbud doesn't disconnect itself when removed from ear. How can this be fixed?

Thank you Robin 621k for your reply. Very frustrating audio plays to earbud when earbud is not in ear. What is the point of "in ear" detection?

As long as the ear buds are outside of the case and within range of the phone they will be connected to the phone. They are only "off" when they are charging in the case. You can always manually switch which device is playing audio thou even if your buds are still connected. Swipe down from the top of your phone to bring up the quick settings > tap "media output" > select "this phone" if you want audio to play from the phone speakers, or select another wifi or Bluetooth speaker that you want the music to play from.

Thanks all for the responses. That's too bad the "in ear" detection doesn't include not streaming audio to the earbud when it's not in the ear.

In ear detection just means it recognizes and stops playing music when its not in your ear. If connected to a bluetooth device it will always assume audio should come from that device.

It doesn't hand-off to the phone speaker and resume playing because automatically playing audio out loud when you were playing it privately moments is a bad idea, because most people use bluetooth headsets in situations where playing music out loud may be inappropriate or inconvenient.

To switch audio sources, press the volume button and then tap the three dots that are on top of the volume bar. This will expand the volume panel. Tap the bluetooth icon that appears on the bottom left corner of the volume panel. This is cause audio to play from the phone, and will also be visually represented by the bluetooth icon you just pressed changing to represent a phone.
