Sync drafts in Penup between 2 Samsung devices?

How do I sync drafts in Penup between 2 Samsung devices?

I just bought a new device and it doesn't have my old drafts. If I create something in my new device, it's not showing in the old one. Looks like each is saved on the device, not in cloud.

How do I change that?

I am logged in on both to the s same account.

Make sure your sync settings are turned on on your Samsung or Google account 1st. If so toggle off and back on again and turn device off and restart it.

Thank you! Now it's syncing to the cloud (hurray!) but still not showing in drafts in Penup app.
So I can't start working on a project on one device and finish it on another ☹️

I've been struggling with the same issue as the OP, but I feel like I'm being really dense with this bit of advice; which sync settings do I need to check, and how do I know if my PenUp drawings are being saved to the cloud? I can't see anything in the app settings (in-app or via main settings) about cloud syncing, and the only settings I can see for cloud sync/backups in my Google or Samsung accounts don't show any options for individual apps.

Hey MagBal,

tbh I've been struggling with the same problem for a hot minute now (3 years) and as a IT trainee myself It's just unbelievable to me how the devs of penup could turn this app into a online drawing network with features functions such as logging into your samsung acc where your posted art can be seen with any device your on but your drafts are apparently saved on each device only, it not as if they had to write a completely whole new code, the potential is there but they didn't implement it for whatever reason. It's just shocking to me as why they decided to simply not imply the most essential feature

Now I don't mean to bash the whole app, cuz I simply love the whole concept and love the progress they made over the past years, but this is just a major flaw that NEEDS to be fixed.

I've tried every possible thing as up until now, to export my drafts manually but there are simply no files to be found of the drafts wich leaves me to think that they are being infact saved in the cloud, just any other device wich is not the source device of the draft can not display it.... this is just a big mystery I'm still trying to solve. Even the samsung support has no clue whatsoever

I'm Thinking about writing my own programm to export/import those drafts at this point.

Smart Switch doesn't work with PENUP

The text chat and the dedicated Smart Switch tech support team don't know how to make Smart Switch transfer PENUP drafts.

The PENUP website's notices say that Smart Switch will copy them but the files don't transfer. Smart Switch returns a message to get help from Samsung members.

I've had text chat tech support remote to both my phones.

I've spoke on the phone for 30 minutes with the dedicated Smart Switch team.

When I have to mail my phone back in 2 days to get the trade-in my drafts will be gone forever.

Losing PENUP drafts upon transferring to a new phone seems to happen to many people. The PENUP app needs to be fixed or the compatibility claim with Smart Switch needs to be removed from PENUP notices.

I just spoke with the dedicated phone support from Smart Switch after getting it escalated. (After 2 days and about 5 hours with support) They were very nice. We tried a few things.

They said the best hope was to either find the files in storage and transfer them manually or hope someone with PENUP responds on Samsung Members before I have to send my old phone back for the trade in.

I read somewhere that the drafts can be sent to another phone using the Smart Switch app. I'm trying to find out how you synced them on the cloud because I don't see PENUP as an option for syncing on my note phone I think

Just in case I need to get a new device in the future, how can I transfer my PENUP drafts from my Note 20 Ultra? I saw on PENUPs website to use the Smart Switch app but when doing a test run, PENUP doesn't show up on things to transfer at least where I was looking. Did I do it wrong? If not, is there another way to transfer them?

If I click on Custom -> Next -> Click the arrow to the right of Apps, I see PENUP in the list of items.

Alright, so I had a similar issue recently when transferring my Penup drafts from my s22u to my s24u. When I did it the first time, it transferred the app but not the draft data. Luckily I still have the old phone with me to try another transfer. So what I did literally just now, was delete the Penup app from my s24u and did a wireless transfer from my old to device to the new device and everything transferred. I would recommend to make sure that the os is up to date as well as the smartswitch app. When transferring select the right arrow next to "everything app" and only select Penup and nothing more to transfer. You can always redo the transfer with the other apps, calls and etc later via the smart switch.

OK, since my SIM card reader is not working on my current phone, I'll try this method on my new phone.

Also to do a wireless transfer, did you use the Smart Switch app or another app?

Yeah, it should work with or without Sim. I did use the smart switch app for it.

Hi. I finally got Samsung to admit SmartSwitch doesn't copy the drafts.

The drafts are also the only things not stored in the cloud, so I lost my drafts.
