Add Gift Card to Samsung Wallet

Hi all,

FAQ on samsung.com says the following:

Open Samsung Wallet, then tap All, and then tap Gift cards. Tap Load gift cards.

This option does not exist on my S24+ I have all android and app store (both) updates applied. Samsung wallet is working for credit cards and membership cards. But the option to add a gift card, described on samsung.com does not appear for me. I get payment cards and membership cards. The Payment cards option works for credit cards and debit cards but won't work with gift cards.

I searched generally on google (top results point to Samsung's instructions above) and on this forum (closest match is 2023 where someone said to call support and the thread was closed) . It's holiday season, so I will call support in a few days if no one here knows.

Do you have the latest version of Samsung Wallet? It looks like you can only add store gift cards from any of the listed stores.

That's interesting. Mine does not have that option...

I also don't know how to post images here without setting up a hosted image but I'm looking at my menu. Under "more things you can add" mine does not have the Gift Card option where yours does. Confused...

To add an image, just tap the plus sign next to the text box in the app. Or, if using the web version, tap the camera icon in the text window and then select your image. My version of Samsung wallet is 5.8.33

I have 5.8.33

It looks like you have Samsung Pass installed. Maybe that is a difference? I thought that was the password manager, and don't want to use Samsung for that.

Very odd you don't have the same options. Maybe uninstall Samsung wallet and reinstall it? Or try clearing the app's cache. Samsung pass has been integrated into Samsung Wallet. It can neither be installed nor uninstalled. Looks like you are missing a few things. Just because Samsung Pass is integrated, does not mean you have to use it. BTW, it also shows in your wallet.

Samsung Pass and wallet are incorporated into the same app. You don't have to use the password manager if you don't want to.

I uninstalled and reinstalled but no change. So frustrating.

If there is another Canadian user, would you please chime in to advise whether yours has the gift card option or not. I'd like to rule that out as a cause.
