topic open a non-standard file EXTENSION with android app in Samsung Apps and Services

in WINDOWS - I can go to any file TYPE, and select what is the default app to open that file. I am looking for same feature on phone.

SETTINGS -> APPS -> DEFAULT does NOT work

Scenario - i have password file - example KeePass.kdbx

it opens with KeePass2Android

I want to store it RENAMED, in OneDrive, with name of Misc.ABC, and still use KeePass2Android to open the file.

that file DOES OPEN on windows, with KeePass. AND, it somehow DID open at one point on android phone, but now it does not. it is not a corrupted file. I downloaded it, and i LONG-HOLD on it, get the three dots, select "OPEN WITH", and it says that no assigned app can open it, go to the play store.

I do NOT WANT to go to the play store. I want to directly point to KeePass2Android app, and select that from the phone, to have it open the file

REASON for this is that if data of OneDrive gets hacked, out of thousands of files in my folders, it would be much harder for a hacker to see that there is a KeePass file on Onedrive. Even though i've made the password much longer, I still want to mask the extension.

Please do not reply if your solution is the SETTINGS -> APP -> DEFAULT app. that does not work, and does not point to file extensions and offer how to open them.

I have samsun galaxy S23+

any assistance appreciated, thanks
