topic Thanks, I hate the mobile update. in Samsung Apps and Services

The phone has become less intuitive. All of the apps are rounded, making certain things on my various screens unreadable. I can't stand the split of the "slide down menu". I don't want the Bluetooth option separate from my notifications - that's not something helpful. How about how the update came with a walkthru that depicted app sizing on an expanding grid, but when I go to do it, it's either choosing 4x6 or 5x6. There's no cool grid to make the apps various sizes - and if there is, they sure didn't give me the same experience when I clicked "Try it".

I hate the battery oval. I absolutely hate it.

Why is the clock now bold in the top left? Why did you make my lockscreen clock 2 numbers on top of each other? I changed that setting - I [expletive] hate that one.

I didn't ask for this and I sure as [expletive] don't want it. I don't like how much harder this is to use my phone. Why do companies do this? Why do companies constantly put out wonderfully-operating digital things, only to update them to garbage.

This is obnoxious and someone at Samsung needs to know about it. Make it stop. Give me back my easy-to-use phone.

EDIT: I do not like how the slide-down menu is so hard to use, now. I do not like it one bit. I want to smack someone for doing this. It is now extremely hard to open the menu. If I'm in Chrome, I basically can't access my notifications - the webpage refreshes, somehow all of the tabs are shown, or the other half of the slide-down menu appears. Why this was split is beyond me. Give me back my easy to use phone. I absolutely hate Apple, but this update - on top of all the problems I've had with my S24 - will probably make me go buy an iPhone, even tho I can't afford another phone right now, this S24 has become an unusable brick.

EDIT-2: I hate how soft everything is. Why am I being coddled? I'm an adult. Give me back my nice, clean hard edges. I want my notifications menu to be less cluttered with so much unnecessary space between my notifications. I hate how round everything is. This is an absolute disgrace, Samsung. Please, immediately fire whoever thought this was a good idea. I see others commenting on how this is like the iPhone. I won't be buying an iPhone, but I believe this will finally drive me to get a Google phone. This is an absolutely obnoxious decision and update. I hate this more than I hate that after my cat died of diabetes complications, my dog got cancer, and, now, after my dog got over his cancer, my new cat who seems to be my dead cat come back to life, has health issues. Yeah, my 2023 and 2024 sucked so hard, my 2025 is about to be sucktastic, too - but it's your UI I think I hate the most.

Just posting this as suggestions for the next Android 15/One UI 7 update...

Hey, Samsung, I hope you're listening this time. The Android 15/One UI 7 update better come with some serious improvements. I'm tired of dealing with all these laggy animations and slowdowns.

- Unlock animation? Laggy.

- Screenshot animation? Laggy.

- Charging animation? Laggy.

- Share menu animation? Laggy, especially in the gallery.

- App switching from recents tab? Laggy.

- Edge panels? Laggy.

- Notification panel swipe? Laggy.

- Lock screen widgets? Laggy.

Samsung! You can do better than this. Make these animations smooth and responsive, and make your software feel snappy and enjoyable to use, for once.

Yeah I had to switch my animations and such to .5 in developer options. 1x wasn't really bad but I noticed a difference when I switched and it worked well for me.

Yes, the speed improves, however, the persistent laggy performance remains a concern. Despite performing a factory reset on my S23 Ultra following the One UI 6 update, the issue persisted. After a few days, the device began to lag and slow down once again.

What's probably going on is One UI, while feature rich, is too much of an operating system on top of Android to function super smoothly. One UI is really the only UI that has so much features. Sometimes when I go to pixel or OnePlus, I don't miss all those features. Now those other phones may have their own share of bugs as well but you learn to adapt lol.

Yeah, that's true, but many Chinese phone makers have managed to make their Android versions run smoothly even with a lot of features. They're not perfect either, but they're definitely ahead of Samsung in terms of smoothness. I also use iPhones, and Samsung is even further behind Apple in terms of UI smoothness and performance.

I don't think anything is gonna beat apple when it comes to smoothness. Their 60hz screen are smooth enough to be confused for 90! 😂.
Well, that is true. However, Samsung has the resources to at least try to get closed to or match Apple's level of smoothness. Although, to accomplish that, they would need to hire a more experienced team of developers and designers.

I have been using Samsung phones since the Galaxy S2 and Apple phones since the iPhone 7. My top four (yes! 4 😂) Samsung phones of all time are the Galaxy Note7/Note FE, Galaxy S10 5G, Note 20 Ultra, and S22 Ultra. What are yours?

Mines would be the S10 Plus, S23 Ultra, S21 Ultra, and the Note 10 Plus. I think the Note 20 Ultra is just better than the 10 Plus, but it's something about the 10 Plus that I always held a special place in my heart for it lol. I'll make the Note 20 Ultra #5. My favorite chip all time would be the Snapdragon 855 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 right behind it. The 855 provided way less issues for me, but back then things were more perfect as far as phones went. 8 Gen 2 brought me back to that feeling of not having to worry about battery life, and it had plenty of power for gaming and content creation (for me it's entry level stuff. I'm not a huge creator).

Nice! We can agree that the S10 series was one of the best of all time. I liked the S10 5G over the S10 Plus due to its slightly larger size and the use of Gorilla Glass 6 on the back instead of Gorilla Glass 5 used on the S10+. The S10 era was definitely awesome; we need DJ Koh back! And yes, for me, the Note20 design was superb. I've always been a Note fan. That's true,The SD 855 processor used in these devices offered excellent performance.

No, not at all. I have way more apps installed on my iPhone and Pixel, and those never lag like my S23 Ultra. Samsung simply needs to fix those issues with One UI, which have persisted for some time. Although One UI has improved significantly, it still experiences performance lags in the areas I mentioned.
