Latest version of Samsung Magician is difficult to use

The latest version of Magician installed today 2025-12-01 "features" tiny white text on a black background.

I find it very difficult to read. The Display option allows maximum text size of 75%. That's too small.

And white on black is awful -- it's harsh on the eyes.

I hope you can address both of these issues with an update soon.

My Samsung Magician always had white text on a black background. It's not tiny, though.

A previous version on my work laptop has a "theme option" which allows light or dark. It's set to light. The updated magician no longer has this option and is set to dark.

The old version had a display option with values auto, 75%, 100%, ... 175%. The new version has only auto, 50%, 75%.

This seems like a real software screwup.

I can't even select anything other than Auto, its greyed out.

My problematic version is 9.0.0, servicing a samsung ssd 990 pro.

The version on my work computer is 8.5.2 and also claims it's the latest version of magician! It services a 980 pro.

It may be the latest version for the particular drive. Like I said, my drive is older by at least 8 years. The drive on your work computer is older than your home computer. Different versions for different drives.

Truthfully, the only time I ever open magician was when I first set up the drive, and when someone has a question. I open it to look. I wouldn't test my drive unless performance was suffering, so I have no reason to ever open the app.

I totally agree with you, Constellation. The entire UI stinks. Why would Samsung change the UI so drastically - now I have to re-learn how to navigate the whole thing. Not only that, in my 4K monitor everything is enormous and I cannot navigate from one device to the next as used to do in the previous version. Left on the hands of idiots the UI can become this abomination that is version 9.0. Thanks a lot, Samsung.

It has to be the worst app I've ever seen. I'm not sure what the devs at Samsung were thinking, but they need to lay off the drugs.

My eyes are bleeding because of the small font in this update. If I damage my eyes now that Samsung is responsible by making such a terrible update

I don't even have vision issues and I find the new UI incredibly hard to read. There needs to be an option to increase font size, I shouldn't have to borrow a pair of reading glasses just to check my drive health.

Unless you put in an error report, they are not going to a) fix it, or b) make any statement about it. Posting your complaint here is not going to get the attention of the programmers. It is strictly peer-to-peer interaction.

Agreed! Font is tiny and blurry when magnified. Y'all have got to do something to help us older folks with vision challenges!

My display options are locked on auto for v9.0 and I HATE IT!!! I can barely read this. C'mon Samsung how the heck do you push out this foolishness? You have Googled your users SMH. Fix it please.

I'm having the same issue with V9.0. I can't read anything because the text is so small. I have even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it,which did nothing.I hope Samsung has a patch for this sometime soon because this is just unacceptable.

Increasing the screen resolution of the PC fixes it but I'm not making everything larger to for this 1 app.

I've uninstalled and running 8.3.2 now. I just ignore the update to 9.0. One day there will be a newer one hopefully with a bug fix 🤨

Is there an easy place to get 8.3.2? I'd like to do the same. I wasn't aware it was an option.
