Modes and routines - disable notifications (completely). (Missing feature).

Hello guys,

Since I've upgraded from 24 ultra to S26 ultra, I've noticed that I cannot completely remove the notifications. I can disable them from lock screen, but not from the notifications panel. I'm not sure if it's related to the 26 ultra settings, or One Ui 8.5 settings\options, but it's very frustrating that we don't have the option to disable the notifications of Modes and Routines from the notifications panel... I just need to view the notification of the specified routine that is running at the moment.

Please add it, thanks!

Welcome to the Samsung Community, Membersm178! Great choice with the S26 Ultra. We understand that you’re experiencing difficulty disabling your notifications, and we are here to assist you.

For notifications that require an immediate update, Live notifications are provided. If you do not want to access this feature, you can turn it off.

1. Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar > Live notifications > View more > turn on or off what you want.

2. Settings > Notifications > App notifications > select the app(s) you want to turn on or off > turn on

Also, If you didn’t know yet the notification panel and quick settings are now separated. Swipe down on the far right of the screen to open quick settings. Swipe down anywhere else on the screen to open the notification panel. You can easily switch back and forth between the notification panel and quick settings by swiping left or right from the edge of the screen. Hopefully this solves your issue, and thank you for being a part of Samsung!

While I'm examining this

1. Go to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar > Live notifications > View more > Select what you wish to turn on or off.

as well as this

2. Choose the app or apps you wish to turn on or off under Settings > Notifications > App notifications > Turn on

There is no way to turn off the notifications in either case. To turn it on or off, use the tap option. I would upload a screenshot, but there isn't a photo upload option.

To upload screen shots, if using the app tap the + next to the dialogue window; on a computer, tap the camera icon on top of the reply box.

You should be able to disable notifications in each individual app - except for a select few. I do not believe there is a universal way to turn them all off at once. If you go to settings/notifications/app notifications, you will bring up a list of all apps where you can turn notifications on or off - turn all the sliders off. Any app that does not appear there will need to be accessed through the app's info screen, and you will have to turn notification categories on and turn off all the categories except for the one(s) that are mandatory. I find those almost never send notifications anyway. You cannot turn off all emergency alerts, the government channel is always on. To enable notification categories, go to settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for all apps and turn the slider to on.

so this is the issue, as you can see, there is no toggle next to modes and routines...

i have Samsung devices for almost 10 years from now, believe me im familiar with the system and all the options :).

Are you getting notifications from modes and routines that you want turned off? Why wouldn't you want to know if a mode or routine has been activated/is running? There are many people who set automatic routines or modes to start automatically and then either forget they are active or need to check to see if they are active.

However, you can go to settings/app and then search for modes and routines. You can turn off notifications for modes and routines. The main notification slider is, in fact, greyed out, but if you turn notification categories on per my instructions earlier, you can turn off all the categories, effectively turning them all off. Once again, to turn on notification categories, go to settings/notifications/advanced settings/manage notification categories for all apps and turn the slider to on.
