Lock Screen Music Widget not working since last system update

About a week ago there was a system update that I accepted. Ever since then I have not been able to get the music widget to appear from the lock screen. I have gone into the settings>Lock Screen>Widgets and I've made sure the Music button is lit up as "on". I've toggled it on and off and have restarted the phone multiple times in each position. The other widgets aren't working either, but it's primarily the music that I need to have fixed.

Remove the widget, then add it back after ensuring the music app is up to date as well.

That still doesn't work - my widget is lost to the ether. . .

I had the same issue and the "App Notification" has to be on allowed. If you have the App notification on "blocked", this is what is causing the issue.

Go to: Settings > Apps > (look for your music app, example: Spotify) > Notifications > Allow / or turn on

This will fix the issue.

I have tried all of these things and it is still not working. I use this feature all the time at work would love to have it back!

After months of the music widget not functioning, I got it working! Here is what I did:

Removed/turned off the Music widget from the Cover Screen.
Enabled Notifications on my music app (I use Amazon Music Unlimited.)
Made sure the music app was updated.
Restarted the device.
Added/turned on the Music widget for the Cover Screen.

When I started music app and checked the Cover Screen, the widget was working again! Hope this is helpful!
