I have always downloaded music from Amazon and the songs are then playablenon Samsung Music. I just downloaded the 9 track new Korn album and it's not showing up anywhere EXCEPT in the Amazon Music app. I don't want to play music through their app, I want to use the Samsung Music app. I just recently downloaded 2 albums from Amazon and they show up in Samsung Music, I don't understand why this album can not be found on my SD card and won't play on Samsung Music app. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Only luck I've had is to download Amazon music app to my laptop. Download the music from the app to the laptop. Plug my phone into the laptop and after MANY attempts of trial and error find the folder where the Amazon Music is stored and try to get it to copy over to my SD card. This is a MAJOR pain in the . I have been working on this since I made this post. I ordered The Essential Judas Priest album and it did not download from Amazon right to my SD card like the settings says it does. I can NOT find the downloaded music ANYWHERE on my phone. They only way I found was to do it with the instructions above. Good luck, it's very frustrating. And Amazon is going to lose a lot of money because I'm not going to order single songs or albums from them if I have to go through ALL this work to get the music on to my phone.

Agree, I'm done purchasing music from Amazon unless/until this gets resolved. I too was able to download the music onto my computer -- Microsoft Surface (Groove music app) -- but I have not gone through the steps of moving the file(s) to my phone.

Looks like someone has posted same issue on an Amazon help forum here:

https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D56Q00008bZHodSAG/purchased-mp3-songs-not-downloading

In the meantime, maybe someone from Samsung will see this post on their own forum and respond.

As a workaround I went into my internal storage and in the settings did "show hidden files". Then I located my music in com.amazon.mp3 and copied the files to my internal storage > music folder.

I just tried this, and it didn't work for me. It doesn't appear that my Amazon mp3's are downloading at all into my Samsung Galaxy S10e phone, since I can't find the files anywhere in my phone's internal storage. The files seem to only "download" into the Amazon music app's download directory.

Worth noting that there are multiple threads on this issue on the Amazon help forum. Lots of work around ideas, no fixes. I'm still unclear if this is an Amazon issue or a Samsung issue -- probably both.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A12. The files were automatically being saved to my phone despite me telling the app to save them to my Micro SD card.

It doesn't matter what card I use if it isn't saving where it needs to. It was initially in "My Files>Internal Storage>Android>com.amazon.mp3"

I transferred the "com.amazon.mp3" file to my micro sd card manually with the "Move" option that appears after selecting a long press to the "Music" folder in my Micro SD Card.

I also found all my MP3s in there when I told my phone to show my hidden files. I believe its a miscommunication with the amazon music app and the samsung phone itself, because everthing I've downloaded has appeared in my Samsung Music App after doing that and restarting.

I'll be posting this work around on Amazon.

I found a work around. Get a free Dropbox account. There's a limit on how large the files can be in a free Dropbox account, but a couple of songs is well below the limit. I downloaded my recent MP3 purchases onto my home computer which is where I store all my music to play on my Sonos system throughout the house. From the home computer, I shared the MP3's with my Dropbox. Then I logged into my Dropbox from my Samsung phone and exported them from Dropbox into my music folder on my phone. It's a few extra steps but it works perfectly. I suspect Amazon is trying to discourage owning of music in favor of their streaming service. The oligarchs are trying to create a society where working class people (and if you can't survive 2 months without a paycheck, you are working class, my friend) don't own anything. We won't own cars. We will Uber instead. We won't own homes. We'll be permanent renters. We won't own music. We will pay a monthly fee or lose access to a lifetime of favorite songs. no! I don't need an algorithm to curate my music for me. I refuse to pay a monthly fee for access to my music and this is a way to get around it. Good luck, everyone!

I have the same problem with google chrome. I didn't find the song I downloaded in the download folder but I found it at com.android.chrome so I think amazon does the same.

Taken from Amazon forum

Our technical team is still working on a solution. In the meantime, they have provided the following workaround.

Download purchased music to Amazon Music Player and then copy the file to the Android music player of your choice.

Open the Amazon Music app.

Select Library.

Select Playlists.

Select Purchased playlist to see the music that you own.

Tap the context menu next to the song and choose Download.

Downloaded music is saved by default to an Amazon Music folder on your Android device. This folder can be found at /Android/data/com.amazon.mp3/files/Music/Purchased.

To copy music to another folder or device, use a file browser such as Android File Transfer. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Navigate to the filepath and copy the files to their new location.
