Email app deleting mail from server

I manually set up the email account as imap and when I deleted an email on my phone it deletes it from my server too. It's only supposed to do this when you use pop. Only happens on my new galaxy s21, older galaxy is fine. Anyone know a fix? Support had me clearing cache and I lost all my email accounts and emails.

Thanks, the phone is only a couple weeks old.

@Ginger1498 Sorry but you have your information crossed.

Using an IMAP configuration will always delete emails from the server when they are deleted from a client.
Using a POP configuration will provide the option to delete emails from the server or not.

This happens on my POP and Microsoft Exchange (365) emails. Is there a way to fix this?
