Can anyone explain to me why my galaxy a7 lite will receive sms messages but will not send them

Which default messaging app are you using? Samsung Messages or Google Messages?

Talk to your carrier. SMS is a carrier feature.

I asked because Google Messages is RCS messaging via the internet and is not SMS/MMS.

You might still need to enable "Call and Text on other devices" to get this to work.

@Dan2023 actually Google Messages does SMS and RCS. Without SMS your phone would not be able to communicate with anyone other than another RCS client. Much like iMessage uses SMS to communicate with non Apple devices.
